What is ME to WE?

ME to WE is the social enterprise arm of WE that allows people to do good and create impacts with their everyday choices. When you choose to redeem your Koiyn for ME to WE impacts, your Koiyn is converted into contributing to sustainable water projects in developing countries and enriching educational programs domestically.

How can my Koiyn make a difference?

Every Koiyn redemption you make contributes funds to a WE development program in a partner community in Kenya or Ecuador. People just like you use their extra Koiyn to make life-changing impacts for people living in poverty in developing countries, and together those impacts add up to a world of change. WE does not provide handouts, resources, food, or other items at the individual level. Instead, your Koiyn is used to create sustainable, long-term transformations in less fortunate communities.

What is an impact?

Small actions add to big change, and an impact is a life-changing gift that adds to a world of difference for an entire community.

For example, when you redeem your Koiyn for "Clean water for a child for a week," the funds from your impact may go toward the construction of a clean water well that would support an entire community for many years. Your impact is defined as "clean water for a week" because the contribution amount for that specific product represents the cost of delivering water to one person for one week.

How can I learn about the impact of my Koiyn?

You can learn about your impact through the stories that WE collects from the communities we operate development projects worldwide and here at home. WE collects these stories and shares them on its website, so we can tell everyone about the life-changing impacts that people like you are creating at home and abroad.

No one who participates in a WE program has to provide a story, but all participants are asked if they would like to share their experiences. Our in-house team of writers and researchers collect the stories, and we gain consent for all image and name use.

What clean water and sanitation projects does WE provide in Kenya and Ecuador?

WE clean water and sanitation projects include:

Hand pump systems
Boreholes and wells
Water catchment systems
The piping of clean water into a school or community
Clean water education and sanitation
Hand-washing stations and latrines for schools

Why is freshwater so scarce in the communities WE serve?

Many of the areas where WE works have dry climates. In addition, the communities are facing issues like deforestation, drought, changing weather patterns, and climate change. Communities often have limited sources of water—like a polluted local river—which is used for everything, including bathing, washing clothes, drinking water for people, and where animals defecate and bathe themselves.
