Understanding How to Read Your Bill

We know that you may have questions about your monthly energy bills because they can often be complex and challenging to understand. For XOOM Energy customers, we want to help make understanding how your energy bills simple.

XOOM Energy is one of the largest energy retailers in North America, and because of that, we service customers in markets with a few different types of billing methods. Regardless of your state, your local utility will continue to deliver your energy to your home, service transmission lines, and respond to emergencies.

Direct Bill

For XOOM Energy customers who live in a Direct Bill utility, you will receive your bill directly from XOOM Energy. Your local utility will read your meter on a specific date and provide XOOM Energy with all utility charges, which consist of transmission, distribution, taxes, etc.

 XOOM Energy will then consolidate the utility charges along with our supply charges into one bill that you will pay directly to XOOM Energy. Monthly bill payments can be made directly to XOOM Energy by visiting xoomenergy.com/en/my-account. Once your payment is made to XOOM Energy, we then forward the utility portion of your bill to your local utility to satisfy the utility charges. To make paying your XOOM Energy bill simple, you can sign up for Auto Bill Pay when you log into your account and supply the requested information.

Dual Billing

XOOM Energy customers who live in the SoCal Gas and San Diego Gas & Electric markets will receive one bill from your local utility for the utility charges, which consist of transmission, distribution, taxes, etc. You will also receive a bill from XOOM Energy for the supply portion. With Dual billing, you will remit a payment for the utility charges directly to your local utility and a payment to XOOM Energy for the supply portion. To pay your XOOM Energy bill, you can visit xoomenergy.com/en/my-account. To make paying your XOOM Energy bill simple, you can sign up for AutoPay when you log into your account and supply the requested information.

Utility Consolidated Bill

Most of the XOOM Energy service areas billing method is Utility Consolidated Billing. In these states, the local utility reads the meter on a specific date and then provides XOOM Energy with your usage data so we can calculate the energy supply charges. Once the energy supply charges are calculated, we provide this information back to your local utility to be presented as the “Supply Charge” portion of your monthly energy bill you receive from your local utility. You will make the payment for your energy bill to your local utility, and they will forward XOOM Energy the amount owed for the supply charge portion of your bill.
